I am a historian and writer based in Berlin. Born and raised in Chicago, my Croatian roots meant Adriatic summers since childhood. I remember getting excited on a family vacation in Vienna, and Swiss summer camp dazzling me with muesli and the cookie cutter views. I returned to Europe to research my doctoral thesis in history at the University of Oxford (on the political activism of Tin Ujević, a beloved Croatian poet). Since obtaining my PhD, I have published two guidebooks on the Croatian coast, as well as travel writing in a number of publications.
Ever since I’ve begun planning trips for clients, I am usually envious of their trips – which I consider a good sign.
